Palme Gemelle - Mare del Gargano

National Park, Hamlets and Protected Marine Area of the Gargano

Did you know that the Gargano Promontory, the north-eastern part of Apulia known as the Spur of Italy, in the Province of Foggia, is the point in Italy closest to the Croatian coast?

With a varied landscape, between the Tavoliere and the Adriatic Sea, the Gargano has a particular microclimate with mild temperatures even during the most torrid summer months. The Gargano National Park is a protected natural area, a veritable ecosystem of over 400 hectares. One of the largest and most beautiful parks in Europe, it is famous for its ancient plants – Beech Trees, Cedars and Oaks – and for its rare fauna – Fallow Deer, Foxes and Wild Cats.

It comprises the Tremiti Islands – a marine reserve – the Protected Marine Area and the Umbrian Forest Nature Reserve, the access road of which is that of our hotel, 10 km away. Don’t miss the Museum of Ancient Crafts and the Fallow Deer and Mouflon reserve.
